He has also undertaken professional courses and continuing education programmes through institutions and organisations including the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), IRICEN, IITs and IIMs.

Professional Career

Srivastava built a professional career spanning more than 36 years in civil engineering and infrastructure development. His professional experience includes work associated with railway infrastructure, metro systems, bridges, viaducts and major civil engineering projects.

During his career, he held engineering, project and management responsibilities involving infrastructure planning, project development, construction management, engineering review, technical coordination and documentation.

He subsequently served as a General Manager at RITES Limited, an Indian engineering and consultancy organisation associated with infrastructure and transport-sector projects.

The experience gained during his infrastructure career later became a foundation for his work in professional consulting, technical writing, mentoring and knowledge dissemination.

BridgeMind Consulting

In March 2026, Srivastava founded BridgeMind Consulting in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The organisation was established to bring together his experience in infrastructure, engineering, professional communication, education and knowledge creation.

BridgeMind Consulting operates around three broad areas:

Infrastructure Advisory

The infrastructure advisory vertical draws upon Srivastava's professional experience in civil engineering, railway infrastructure, metro systems, bridges and major infrastructure projects. Its focus includes experience-based advisory, technical support, engineering knowledge and professional guidance.

Knowledge, Learning and Publishing

The knowledge and learning vertical is centred on Cerebral Pursuits and includes educational content, books, publications, structured courses, digital learning resources and mentoring.

Strategic Technical Communication

The strategic technical communication vertical focuses on the preparation, organisation and presentation of technical and professional information, including company profiles, technical presentations, professional documentation and other knowledge resources.

The organisation's broader philosophy is represented by the expression Engineering Wisdom | Infrastructure Knowledge | Cognitive Mastery.

Cerebral Pursuits

Cerebral Pursuits is a knowledge and learning initiative created and curated by Srivastava. The initiative includes a YouTube channel, digital learning resources and a companion mobile application.

Its educational approach emphasises conceptual understanding, analytical thinking, problem solving, awareness and structured learning rather than dependence solely on memorisation.

Cerebral Pursuits covers educational content for different learner groups, including foundation-level learning for Classes 6–10, higher-secondary learning for Classes 11–12, competitive-examination preparation and engineering-related subjects.

Its areas of educational interest include examinations and disciplines associated with JEE, NEET, UPSC and other competitive and professional learning environments.

A recurring philosophy of the initiative is expressed in the line:

“Train the Brain — that solves the problems.”

Cognitive Approach to Learning

A significant theme in Srivastava's educational work is the relationship between awareness, attention, knowledge and problem solving.

His approach places emphasis on developing concentration, observation, analytical ability, mental discipline and conceptual clarity alongside conventional academic preparation.

The concept is particularly developed in his book Awareness to Mastery, which presents learning as a progression from awareness and knowledge acquisition towards understanding, mastery and effective application.

His educational philosophy seeks to encourage learners to develop the ability to understand and solve problems rather than merely reproduce information.

Books and Publications

Srivastava's writing draws upon his professional experience in engineering and infrastructure as well as his interests in education, learning, professional development and knowledge management.

His principal works include:

Awareness to Mastery

Awareness to Mastery examines the progression from awareness and knowledge acquisition towards deeper understanding, mastery and problem solving. The work is associated with Srivastava's cognitive approach to learning and competitive-examination preparation.

Beyond the Syllabus

Beyond the Syllabus focuses particularly on learning approaches associated with UPSC-oriented preparation. It explores aspects of strategy, psychology, mindset and learning that extend beyond conventional syllabus-based study.

The Document Fortress

The Document Fortress is a professional work centred on documentation, organised information and disciplined knowledge management in engineering and project environments.

Srivastava is also developing additional publications relating to civil engineering, professional practice, learning, professional growth and the development of engineers.

Awards and Recognition

In 2026, Srivastava received two Legacy of Literature Awards for his books:

  • Awareness to Mastery — Best Manuscript
  • The Document Fortress — Best Professional Non-Fiction

The awards were presented at a literary awards event in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The recognition marked an extension of Srivastava's professional career into authorship and knowledge creation, combining his engineering experience with his interest in education and professional learning.

Teaching, Mentoring and Knowledge Dissemination

Srivastava has maintained an interest in teaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing alongside his engineering career.

Through Cerebral Pursuits and other educational initiatives, he develops and shares material intended to strengthen conceptual clarity, analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.

His knowledge-sharing activities extend across school-level foundation education, higher-secondary learning, competitive examinations, engineering education and professional development.

He also undertakes mentoring and knowledge-dissemination activities aimed at students, young engineers and professionals seeking to strengthen their academic and professional capabilities.

Engineering Knowledge and Professional Mentoring

Srivastava's engineering background forms an important component of his approach to mentoring.

His professional experience in railways, metro infrastructure, bridges, viaducts and construction management provides the basis for sharing practical perspectives on engineering and infrastructure.

His mentoring interests include professional discipline, technical understanding, documentation, problem solving, project experience and the transition from academic learning to professional practice.

Professional Philosophy

A recurring theme in Srivastava's work is the connection between experience, knowledge and application.

He has described his transition into writing as an extension of his professional approach to problem solving:

“I never set out to be a writer. I set out to solve problems.”

This philosophy reflects his broader effort to convert professional experience into structured knowledge that can be communicated to students, engineers, professionals and other learners.

His work places importance on understanding problems, organising knowledge, applying experience and developing the ability to make informed decisions.

Infrastructure and Knowledge Philosophy

Srivastava's professional philosophy combines engineering practice with knowledge dissemination.

His work through BridgeMind Consulting seeks to connect practical infrastructure experience with structured technical knowledge. His educational initiatives similarly attempt to connect academic concepts with analytical thinking and real-world application.

The resulting approach can be broadly described through three interconnected themes:

  • Engineering wisdom — knowledge developed through professional experience.
  • Infrastructure knowledge — understanding of engineering, construction and infrastructure systems.
  • Cognitive mastery — development of awareness, concentration, understanding and problem-solving ability.

Current Work

Based in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Srivastava currently works through BridgeMind Consulting while continuing his activities as an author, educator, consultant and mentor.

His present areas of activity include:

  • Infrastructure advisory and professional consultancy
  • Civil engineering knowledge dissemination
