Priyanka completed her schooling at Netaji Subhash Vidyaniketan in Agartala. She went on to earn a B.A. from Women's College Agartala, followed by an M.A. from Tripura University. She also obtained a B.Ed from the Government Institute of Advanced Studies in Education, Tripura University. In 2004, she earned the Shilpa Ratna in fine arts from the Sarbabharatiya Sangeet o Sanskriti Parishad.
