Sourav Mukherjee
Sourav Mukherjee is an Indian social entrepreneur, innovator, social investor, and development leader based in Kolkata, India. He is the Founder and Director of the Kolkata Society for Cultural Heritage (KSCH) and a consultative member at the United Nations ECOSOC.
Born and raised in Kolkata, West Bengal, Mukherjee completed his B.Tech in Computer Science from Jadavpur University. He holds professional certifications from The Pennsylvania State University in Dual Use Research of Concern, Research Security, and Social and Behavioral Research Ethics.
Mukherjee began his career at IBM India Pvt. Ltd. as a database administrator. In 2012, driven by his passion for social impact, he founded KSCH — a non-profit organization that merges technology with sustainability.
KSCH focuses on women-led economic empowerment, eco-tourism, climate change mitigation, and renewable energy access. Mukherjee has led several large-scale projects across rural Bengal, including mangrove plantation, solar microgrids, clean cookstoves, and blockchain-based transparency systems.
KSCH’s work has impacted more than 3 lakh individuals and enabled the creation of thousands of green jobs. The organization’s AI and GIS-driven monitoring platform ensures measurable social and environmental outcomes.
