Yuva Kavi Avinash Chavan (born 16 September 1986) is an Indian poet and literary figure celebrated for his contributions to contemporary Marathi poetry. Known by the title "Yuva Kavi," Chavan has published acclaimed works such as Don Shabd and Tujha Veda. He hails from Phaltan in Maharashtra's Satara district and remains a prominent voice in Maharashtra’s literary community.

Early Life and Education

Born in Phaltan, Satara district, Maharashtra, Avinash Chavan showed an early affinity for literature. His academic journey was marked by active participation in cultural and literary events, which laid the foundation for his career in poetry and public expression.

Literary Career

Avinash Chavan's debut collection, Don Shabd, was published in 2007. The book features forewords by two distinguished figures: former Maharashtra Chief Minister Babasaheb Bhosle and Marathwada University's former Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shivajirao Bhosle. This release marked his entry into the Marathi literary scene with significant acclaim.

Following Don Shabd, Chavan completed two additional poetry collections—Bal and Tujha Veda—both awaiting official publication. Bal is notable for its foreword by renowned journalist Nagesh Bhai Sawant and acknowledgments from political dignitaries such as Vinod Tawde, Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar, and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

His poem Tujha Veda garnered special attention during the 94th Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan, further solidifying his literary reputation.

Chavan has also contributed to political and cultural literature, penning a campaign song for the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and a commemorative poem honoring Shrimant Ramraje Naik Nimbalkar.

Public Engagements

Chavan has actively participated in prestigious literary gatherings, including Kavi Sammelans and Sahitya Sammelans. He presided over the first Yuva Spandan Sahitya Sammelan and the poetry session of the Samvidhan Sahitya Sammelan in 2021. He is frequently invited to the Shivar Sahitya Sammelan hosted by the Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad. Additionally, Chavan served as the district president of a journalist organization for five years. He also organizes annual poetry programs at Ashram schools on his birthday as part of his commitment to literature and social welfare.

His Marathi song Preetiche Dukh has been officially released and is set to appear on major digital music platforms.
