Prakash Divakaran
Prof. (Dr.) Prakash Divakaran (born 26 February 1973) is an eminent Indian academician, entrepreneur, author, and the Vice Chancellor of Himalayan University, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. Renowned for his expertise in supply chain management, academic research, and institutional governance, he has made significant contributions to both academia and industry through his dynamic leadership and scholarly pursuits.
Early Life and Education
Born in Kayankulam, Kerala, Dr. Prakash completed his schooling at CMS High School and went on to earn a B.A. in Malayalam from MSM College, Kayankulam, followed by a B.Com. from MPBOU, Bhopal. He pursued higher studies with an MBA and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Madurai Kamaraj University.
Guided by his passion for continuous learning, he also attained multiple additional qualifications, including an M.Com., M.Phil., and postgraduate diplomas in International Business Operations and Supply Chain Management. He further holds a Diploma in Central Excise and Customs, exemplifying his cross-disciplinary expertise and commitment to lifelong education.
Professional Career
Dr. Prakash began his professional journey in the corporate sector, gaining extensive experience with prominent manufacturing and automotive organizations such as TEK Electromechanicals Pvt. Ltd., TACO Hendrickson Pvt. Ltd., TATA YAZAKI Pvt. Ltd., Minda Industries Ltd., and Polyrub Cooper Standard Pvt. Ltd. He held several key positions, culminating in his role as Deputy General Manager – Supply Chain Management.
His transition to academia in 2013 marked the beginning of a transformative phase in his career. Joining Himalayan University as a Visiting Professor, his dedication to academic development and institutional growth led to subsequent appointments as Pro-Vice Chancellor in 2022 and Vice Chancellor in 2025.
Since 2018, he has also been serving as the Director and CEO of Infinite Global Research Conference Pvt. Ltd., Pune—an organisation devoted to advancing interdisciplinary research and fostering global academic collaboration.
