Bharat Vibhushan is one of the highest civilian awards in India, given to individuals for exceptional contributions in various fields such as art, literature, science, and public service. The award was instituted in 1954 and is presented annually by the President of India. The Bharat Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award in India, preceded only by the Bharat Ratna.
