Karthik Raja Karnan (born May 30, 1994) is an Indian entrepreneur, inventor, and the Founder & CEO of MADique Technologies, based in Salem, Tamil Nadu. He is best known for developing the world’s smallest Automatic Idiyappam-making machine, revolutionizing traditional South Indian food preparation. With a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Karthik has received several national and international awards for his innovative contributions to food processing technology.

Early Life and Education

Karthik Raja Karnan was born on May 30, 1994, in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India, into a middle-class family of skilled weavers. His parents, Mr. Karnan and Mrs. Kaladevi, instilled in him values of hard work and creativity. Limited financial resources fueled Karthik’s innovative mindset, as he began crafting his own toys from a young age.

He studied in a government school, where his aptitude for learning and experimentation flourished. His exceptional academic performance earned him numerous awards, including the Brahma Award, the District-Level Best Student Award, and the State-Level Best Student Award.

Karthik pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Knowledge Institute of Technology, Salem, graduating in 2016. During his college years, he developed several innovative projects and received national recognition, including the Young Scientist Award, the Edison Award, and the prestigious Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award.

Entrepreneurial Journey

After completing his engineering degree, Karthik secured a job offer from Titan but chose to pursue entrepreneurship instead. Despite family opposition, he founded MADique Technologies in a car shed, starting with no employees but a strong vision. His journey began with building an Automatic Murukku Machine, which initially failed. Undeterred by setbacks, he persevered and eventually created a successful prototype.

In 2021, he launched the world’s smallest Automatic Idiyappam Machine, setting a record in the Kalam’s Book of World Records.
